Me and my girlfriends are slowly but surely ticking off the best afternoon tea experiences in London and decided to do the Rosewood hotel this time based in high holborn- a bit out of my usual hangout spots but the building is a work of art, we just had to try
My reservations were for 3 pm on a Saturday and of course, I went in my pretty pastel pink dress- there were two two beautiful weddings going on as well but the kind door man pointed me in the right direction whilst I looked lost and distracted by the magnificent building.
The after noon tea is held in the ‘Mirror Room’, a very big luxurious looking room with very high ceilings- whilst you walk in you definitely want to know who the interior design is because you really want him/her to make you your own very mirror room in your own home.
We had the traditional afternoon tea which was for £39.00 which consisted of the whole works;
- Fresh finger sandwiches
- Your choice of tea
- Scones- plain and fruit
- Selection of cakes
I live for scones and these scones were delightful! Warm and soft- just everything I would want in a scone, I was in scone heaven.
For me service is really an important factor and the Rosewood did not disappoint with their dashing men in tweed coats ensuring we have a lovely experience. I honestly would give the service a 10/10.
I did wander off to the ladies room, just to check out the interior and I was highly impressed with the huge and many mirrors. Perfect lighting to fix up your lipstick after indulging in very rich and delightful cakes-
Conclusion is, I would definitely go to the the Rosewood hotel again for afternoon tea as you get all that you would want in an afternoon experience and the price is reasonable too.
So this City girl gives the mirror room experience 5 stars for its sheer elegance and sophisticated experience.
