OXO tower- Restaurant

After all my years living in London, I only went to this amazing restaurant recently. OXO tower is located on the 8th floor in Southbank, so expect gorgeous views of London’s magnificent skyline and the river below you.

Tip: when you make reservations do ask if you can sit by the window or if it is super warm, ask if you can dine outside in the terrace.

It has a good variety of a contemporary menu, the truffle burrata starter is divine! The website says the restaurant is great for treating yourself and others and I totally agree. It is the kind of a restaurant you go for your birthday, a special date or catching up with your family. It has also has a vegetarian and a vegan menu, so no one in your party is going to be left out! As a side; the truffle mac and cheese was also ordered and it was devoured completely..

For mains I had the wild mushroom lasagne and for dessert a souffle! Takes 15 minutes to prepare but like all good things, worth the wait.

The cocktail list and more importantly, the mocktails are also delicious- it’s so disappointing when you want to have something refreshing besides water and some restaurants just don’t cater to that need but here you don’t have to worry about that. Try the Oriental Chill and see for yourself-

For a full meal and drinks, it can out work out roughly to a 100.00  GBP per person but for a lovely evening with food in good portions and gorgeous views, I personally think is worth it.

Finally, the service is on point- we requested a table outside and which we got which was a real treat since one has the view of the city and St Pauls and skyscrapers! When it started getting breezy as it does in London even when it is summer, the waitress was more than happy to seat us by the window but inside immediately.

I heard they also do afternoon tea so next time my Mom and Sis are in town, Oxo tower is sure on my list.
